In 1956, fifty-seven GE employees came together in Ludlow, Vermont to form Heritage Family Credit Union with a total of $800 in deposits for the first month. Today, Heritage Family Credit Union has 22,000 members and $150 million in assets.
Being a full-service credit union, Heritage Family Credit Union offers a wide variety of financial products and services including mortgages, business services and construction loans to meet all of our members purchasing, refinancing and home remodeling needs.
As a federally-chartered community credit union, people are eligible to join Heritage Family Credit Union if they live, work, worship, do business, or go to school in any of the following communities: Rutland, Addison, Bennington, Windsor or Windham counties in Vermont, or the community of Hooksett, New Hampshire. As a member of the credit union, each of their family members related by blood, marriage or adoption (i.e., sister, spouse, grandmother, great aunt, stepchild, etc.) is entitled to join the credit union and take advantage of the credit union services.
