Building Equity in New Hampshire

Dear Connor Homes,

Just wanted to pass along an interesting conundrum regarding our new Connor home.  In the midst of the worst recession in memory, one in which more than half of our retirement savings has vanished in 6 months, we recently applied for a "Home Equity Line of Credit" and got a very pleasant surprise.  As required by the bank, an independent appraiser evaluated our new "old" home to assess its value.  We're pleased to let you know that not only was the assessment for more than we actually paid for the house, this happened when all the other houses in our community have seen a 15-20% drop in value.  Furthermore, the appraiser couldn't stop "gushing" about how well built the house was and how well it fit into our quaint New England town.  We're so happy that we found the ideal "Hedge Fund", our new Connor Home, in this gloomy economy.  Thanks to all of you. Connor Homes is proud to announce that Tabitha (Tabby) Connor, Sales Associate at Connor Homes' Leesburg, VA office, has been accepted into Columbia University's exclusive Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in New York City, to earn a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development degree.  "Building, development and architecture are in my blood," says Tabby Connor, whose father Mike Connor, founded Connor Homes.  "Columbia's program will allow me to expand my knowledge to help the company further their goals throughout the northeast and the rest of the country - that's something I'm really excited about."

Given her studies, the Leesburg, VA office of Connor Homes, which was managed exclusively by Ms. Connor, will be closing.  All business from this branch will be handled by Connor Homes' headquarters in Middlebury, VT.  However, Ms. Connor is planning on remaining with Connor Homes in a part-time position, and will continue to help develop sales in the mid-Atlantic region as well as other regional sales activities. Mike Connor emphasizes that "our stay here has allowed us to establish a solid foothold in the area, and our company has every intention of building on that success."
